For Mongolian herders, horse riding is an inseparable part of their daily tasks, chores, and travel for life demands. Mongolians do not use special or protective horse riding gears or plan time for horse riding, as it could happen any time of a day at any length relating to the pastoral animal husbandry lifestyle. Mongolians only utilize necessary gear for riding. For instance, their own-made bridle, rein, and Mongolian decorative wooden saddle with iron stirrups.
A man or boy jumping on unsaddled horseback and galloping away is a general picture of Mongolia.
Mongolian horse riding gears for travelers are different for the clients’ safety and enjoyment. We will provide most of the equipment except for recommended items to pack.
We use leader saddles with iron loop pommel and cantle, which also help the beginner and amateur riders as a holder. The padded leader saddle cushion is softer compared to the Mongolian traditional saddle cushion.
Mongolian traditional iron stirrups are used for horse riding tours. Inexperienced riders could request toe cage stirrups.
We use traditionally made cow skin bridle and rein.
We provide helmets and half chaps upon request. You may bring a safety vest and gloves if you think it is required.
